I’ll See You on Friday FAQ

Hello again! Thank you for coming back to my blog. Today I want to tell you about the two things that I get the most comments about from my book “I’ll See You on Friday.” The first one is my inspiration for the character Abigail. During my research for the year 1918, Bible names seemed to be common. So, her name comes from the Bible. Abigail in the Bible was discerning, wise, and beautiful. These are the same attributes of the character Abigail in this story. It’s not uncommon for Christians to be portrayed as hypocritical, weak, and awkward. I wanted her strength and genuineness to be pivotal in her character development. I envisioned her as someone I would admire and strive to be like. I only gave a little description of her appearance, other than she had brown hair and blue eyes. I want you, the reader to use your imagination on what she looked like. As we’ve heard our mothers say over and over again, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Everyone has different opinions of beauty, and this allows you to apply your standards.

The book cover is the second thing I get a lot of comments about. Honestly, this was one of my favorite parts of working on this book. I am a very visual person; this is the part that allowed me to give you something you could see and capture my vision for the story. So, I sent my cover designer from Elite Authors a description of the book. I sent them a picture of the dress that I wanted Abigail to be wearing. I told them that I wanted her standing on a grand staircase, and I gave them pictures of examples that I liked. I am very pleased with the final results. I feel the designer executed everything I wanted perfectly! I love how the last sentence of the description from the back of the book is: “From the moment they said I do, nothing goes as planned.” On the cover, it shows Abigail walking into the unknown of the palace.

I want to let you know that the next book in the Unexpected Love series, “No Ordinary Wildflower,” e-book is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The paperback will be available for purchase when the book releases on August 7th.

Thanks again for reading! I pray your day is blessed!
